Melissa Viviane Jefferson, professionally known as Lizzo, is an American singer, rapper, and flutist. She’s not only a talented artist but also a strong advocate for body positivity and self-love.

In 2020, Lizzo embarked on her weight loss journey by following a 10-day smoothie detox diet. She made significant changes to her eating habits, quitting salt and sugar, and avoiding high-calorie foods like pasta and pizza. Although she hasn’t confirmed the exact amount of weight lost, reports suggest it’s around 50 pounds.

Despite facing criticism and body shaming from online haters, Lizzo remains committed to promoting self-love and body positivity. She openly discusses her fitness journey in interviews and even addressed weight loss in an interview with Vanity Fair in October 2022.

Before signing with Nice Life Recording Company and Atlantic Records, she released two studio albums: Lizzobangers” (2013) and Big Grrrl Small World” (2015). Her first major-label extended play (EP), Coconut Oil,” came out in 2016.
