The First Choice Health Campaign

Are you Choosing Wisely?

Welcome

Health care costs are increasing,  and approximately 30 percent of those costs are on wasted care.  “Wasted care” is care that may not improve people’s health and in some cases may actually be harmful. First Choice Health has partnered with the Consumer Reports Choosing Wisely campaign. Choosing Wisely provides tools and resources to help you talk about your care options with your doctor(s) to ensure you receive care that’s right for you. Founded by the ABIM Foundation and supported by 60 different medical societies, Choosing Wisely offers topical articles and videos to help you make the most of your conversations with your doctor(s).

For example, Do I need a MRI or CT scan for my headache?  The answer may surprise you! Click on the “X-Rays & Imaging” tab to learn more.

Explore the tabs on the left for tips on information about common tests and treatments, and how to talk with your doctor.
