The OSU Health Plan Campaign

Informed patients, making smarter choices

Be a Smarter Healthcare Consumer

Do you know how to identify high-quality health care for you and your family?

In today’s fast-paced, electronic world, not everything you read about or hear about can be called “high quality.” But being an informed and prepared consumer of medical information and news can help you have important conversations with your care providers.

The nurses, pharmacists, and physicians at the OSU Health Plan have partnered with the Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus and Consumer Reports to bring you Consumer Health Choices. Our goal is to provide you with tools and information to help you prepare for discussions with those from whom you receive your health care. Using this tool can help you find safe, quality health care when you need it.

We recognize, of course, that an electronic search does not resonate with everyone!  In addition to Consumer Health Choices, if you prefer to give the OSU Health Plan a call with your health questions, we invite you to do so.  Simply call us at 614.292.4700 or 800.678.6269. You can also talk to a nurse at the 24/7 Nurseline at 800-678.6269.

But if you like electronic searches, simply click on the tabs at the left for tips for talking with your care provider about common tests and treatments.
